THE RISE OF DEMOCRACY IN EUROPE.
Concept of democracy:
  Is the name given to a number of forms of government and procedures which legitimacy. Eg. Official exercising power.

Meaning of democracy.
- is a government of the government in which people rule, eg. Majority Vs Manority.

ORIGIN OF DEMOCRACY.
   The genesis of democracy can be traced back to the greek city state of Anthens. Democracy derivered from two greek word which are,
"Demos" means a "people"
"Kratos" means "rule"
Therefore, Democracy is about rule of people.

Different scholars defined the term Democracy at a different time and concept.
1. Joseph Schumpter.
Democracy, is simply a political method or mechanism for choosing political leadership.
2. Abraham Lincolin
- is a government of the people by the people for the people.
3. Robert A. Dah!
- As a political system citizens must have opportunities to.
a) To formulate their preferences
b) To signify their preferences to your fellow
These opportunities can lead to guarantee Democratic rigNohts, such as follows
- Freedom to form and join any organization
- Freedom of expression
- Right to vote and to be voted
-Freedom of mass media

FACTORS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF DEMOCRACY IN EUROPE

1. Collapse/ Decline of feudalism and stabilization of monarch Authority
2. Spread of secular education/ civil education
- led awareness of the people
3. Rise of commercial activities/ Commerce
4. Religious freedom
5. Divine rights of king
6. War of roses 1460- 1715
