plan prepared by reflecting the subject scheme of work., is the title given to
a statement of the achievement to be realized and specific means by which
objective are to be attained as a result of the activities engaged during the
period. A successful lesson plan addresses and integrated three key components
such as learning objective, learning activities and assessment to check for
student understanding. lesson plan involves defining the objective, selecting
and arranging the subject matter resources as well as determining the method. Lesson
plan involves preliminary information which includes name of school and
teacher, date, class, subject, period, time and number of student. Also main
part includes competence, main topic, sub topic, general objective, specific
objective, teaching and learning material, teaching technique and reference.
Some characteristics of lesson plan are should have clear objective, should be
written also should be show technique of teaching. Lesson plan is important due
to the following reasons:
To remind the teacher which class
and at what time are supposed to teach the lesson, the preparation of the
lesson plan normally contain a time and class at which a lesson will be
conducted, hence a teacher became more active in conducting the lesson also
helps a teacher to ensure day to day activities that go on the classroom.
To make evaluation about which
method teacher can use so as student can understand the lesson, this can help
teacher where by lesson plan can show the percentage of the students who will
be able to understanding the lesson and who did not understand the lesson due
to various methodologies like participatory method such as group discussion,
brainstorm, question and answer, project and field trip. And non participatory
method such as lecture method, demonstration and guest speaker, through these
methods a teacher can decide which method used in a lesson in order to improve
an understanding of students
To
understand the number of present and absent to both boys and girls, in the
lesson plan there is preliminary information which have the column of number of
students this helps the teacher to know those student who are present and
absentees, hence can help a teacher to know on how He or She can compasate the
lesson for those who unable to attend in the lesson in order to make them to
understand the previous lesson.
To keep teacher on the right track for
effective teaching, this is because lesson plan act as guidelines to a teacher
while teaching it enables the teacher to know the most desirable teaching
procedures and prepare tests of progress and checks for judging the outcomes of
instruction
To ensure association between
various lessons, in the same main, units the selection and organization of
subject matter, materials and activities, this is due to the fact that when
preparing a lesson plan teacher tend to make a proper correlation or systematically
arranged between the previous lesson and the next one where as finally make a
proper organization.
Therefore, a lesson plan has a great
important in teaching and learning process but it happen teacher lacks a lesson
plan can face some problems as can make a teacher to be Dis-organized and also
